Today, the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (PIK) arrested two suspects, and in consultation with competent prosecution office, executed an operative plan in relation to this case.
PIK received information about suspicions on involvement of a suspect, namely a police officer (a lieutenant, who held the position of Commander of the Police Station in Novo Brdo) in illegal activities.
PIK’s investigators, following authorization by the prosecutor, launched investigations against the officer under the suspicion that the same has conducted the criminal offence of: Abusing official position or authority, and Trad-in-influence, sanctioned under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
During investigations conducted in relation to this case, PIK gathered evidence which proved that the information received was correct, and resulted that two other citizens were implicated in this case.
Today (07.09.2017), in the early morning hours, PIK investigators executed an operative plan in the Region of Gjilan, whereby the warrant issued by Basic Court in Gjilan was enforced, and three locations were searched, thus resulting in confiscation of several material evidence that will be used in further criminal proceedings.
The investigators of PIK, by a decision of the state prosecutor, have arrested two suspects (the police lieutenant, and a citizen) and the same were imposed the measure of 48 hours in detention, awaiting continuation of other court procedures.
Regarding this case, as part of administrative and investigation procedures, PIK recommended the Kosovo Police to suspend the commander of this police station.

DCAF (Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces) in cooperation with Kosovo Police (KP), and Kosovo Academy on Public Safety (KAPS), held a four-day workshop on “Strengthening capacities grapefruit levitra for specialized training on police integrity”.
16 officials from KPI, KP, and KAPS attended this workshop that was led by DCAF officials.
During the workshop was presented DCAF’s “Training Manual on Police Integrity” for representatives of safety institutions, and its implementation within the Kosovo police training system was discussed. Moreover, participants exercised how to organize training on police integrity by using the Adult Learning Methodology and activities included in the DCAF Training Manual with the purpose of increasing their facilitation/lecturing skills. By the end of the workshop, the participants developed a draft-training plan which could serve as the basis for the pilot training course of police officers on police integrity.
DCAF supported the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and other local institutions in strengthening the police service and its personnel integrity. DCAF activities so far include a range of roundtables (2013, 2014, and 2015) which established the platform for multilateral dialogue, and increased awareness on different integrity related topics such as integrity planning, institutional cooperation in the field of investigation and prosecution of police misconduct, and the importance of external oversight. Moreover, the organization of an international seminar on police control and supervision in 2015 resulted with the identification of challenges and good practices in the work of Kosovo Police Inspectorate (KPI) and exchange of practical experiences between oversight institutions from different countries.

Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (PIK) through the Division of Public Communication and International Cooperation has carried out many activities in the field of cooperation with citizens, by presenting to them the role, mission and scope of PIK.
One such activity with the theme “Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, the role and importance of the rule of law in Kosovo” was held yesterday with students of the University “Kadri Zeka” in Gjilan in the university premises where about 100 students attended this activity.
In this event participated as well the officials of MIA, ICITAP, EULEX, Kosovo Police and academic staff of the University “Kadri Zeka” with support of whom was organized this activity.

Students of the University “Kadri Zeka” in Gjilan received additional information about the role of PIK in the rule of law in Kosovo and in the regionalization project of PIK namely the opening of regional offices in Prizren, Gjilan and North Mitrovica.
It is worth mentioning that students were very interested for this activity and they submitted various questions which were answered by PIK officials.

Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (PIK) through the Division of Public Communication and International Cooperation has carried out many activities in the field of cooperation with citizens, by presenting to them the role, mission and scope of PIK.
The aim of these activities is to strengthen the cooperation with citizens but also to increase the visibility of organization regarding the scope of PIK in general and the “Blue Line” in particular.
One such activity was held yesterday with citizens of Graçanica with the topic “Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, the role and importance of the rule of law in Kosovo”, this meeting was held in the building of House of Culture where were present over 100 citizens.
This activity was realized in cooperation with ICITAP, Municipal Assembly of Graçanica, Division for Community Safety of MIA and Kosovo Police.
This was an open discussion with citizens regarding the scope of PIK (role and authorisations), and were provided explanations regarding the investigation procedures in which PIK is involved, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of Kosovo and their role in enhancing the professionalism of police and the importance of police integrity.
Citizens of Graçanica received additional information about the role of PIK in the rule of law in Kosovo http://www.achaten-suisse.com/ and about the project of regionalization of PIK, namely opening of regional offices in Prizren, Gjilan and North Mitrovica.
It is worth mentioning that this activity was followed with significant interest by the citizens, and the citizens had the chance to submit questions and get answers from PIK and KP officials.

Police Inspectorate of Kosovo informs the public opinion that the figure of 671 police officers that were investigated in 2016 by PIK, which was published in several portals, does not stand and is a misinterpretation.
Chief Executive Officer of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, Mr. Hilmi Mehmeti, during the reporting to the Committee on Internal Affairs, Security and Supervision of the Kosovo Security Force on 28.02.2017 revealed the achievements of PIK including some statistics from the annual report of PIK for 2016.
In front of the members of the Committee on Internal Affairs, Mr. Mehmeti emphasized the number of cases investigated by PIK and the fact that this number does not imply the number of police officers that were investigated.
In order to properly inform the public opinion, we inform you that in 2016, PIK received and managed 1362 complaints and information.
Out of 671 cases handled by PIK, 165 were classified as cases with elements http://www.acheterviagrafr24.com/viagra-pfizer/ of criminal offense and in total 241 employees of KP have been subject of investigation by PIK (or only 2.7% of employees of KP), and not 671 police officers as it was published in some portals.
