Prishtina, June 4, 2020,
Last night after midnight, Police Inspectorate received information from the Kosovo Police regarding suspicions of a citizen for exceeding the police authorizations during the use of force by a police officer in an incident that occurred after midnight in Prishtina.
Following several investigative actions and in consultation with the competent prosecutor, PIK investigators arrested the police officer (employee at police station “Center in Pristina) who was involved in the incident.
His arrest was made on suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of “ill-treatment during the exercise of official duty” and by the decision of the prosecutor the same measure of detention for 48 hours was imposed to him and also was suspended from duty.
Further investigative actions related to this case to clarify the circumstances of this incident will be continued by PIK investigators in consultation with the responsible prosecutor.
